The Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB), is a federal government card certifying an individual’s blood degree and tribe.  The CDIB is approved and signed by a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) representative once they establish the individual as a descendant, by blood, of a Dawes Enrollee.  The Tribal Membership card establishes an individual as a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and can only be issued once a CDIB has been approved.
