David Beams

Description of Art: sculptural mediums: wood, bronze, and steel and mostly with abstract geometric forms

Artist Biography: David Beams was born in Spokane, Washington in 1979. He studied at the Johnson County Community College and the Institute of American Indian Arts. He received AAS in Metal Fabrication from JCCC and a BFA in Studio Art from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Beams lives and works in Santa Fe. 

Since obtaining his BFA in 2016, Beams has participated in several Group exhibitions and Solo shows. He was honored by being selected as a SITE Santa Fe Scholar and participated in the 2017 Deliberate Acts show at Form and Concept. Shortly after, Beams' work "Meditations on Digital Samara" was selected to be a featured installation in the 2017 AHA Festival at the Santa Fe Railyard. Beams was also selected to showcase his sculpture, "Salient Domain: Extrication" from October 2017 to October 2018 at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe.  In 2018, Beams had a solo exhibition IO.series.01 at the Southside exhibition space.
