Chrischelle Baker

Description of Art: Handmade beaded jewelry, both traditonal and contemporary.  To be worn with regalia or everyday wear.

Biography: Born in OKC, OK.  Grew up in OKC and Moore. Graduated from Moore High School in 1988. Lived and raised 3 daughters in the city of Norman, OK. Became a member of the OK Choctaw Tribal Alliance, upon moving back in 2010, where I attended beading classes. That is where my love for beading began. I meet with a group of ladies on a weekly basis where we bead together and share any new ideas we have learned. I have recently begun setting up vendor tables at local pow wows and done a few commissions. I enjoy learning any techniques that relate to the Choctaw culture. I've done some pottery and basketry but my passion lies with beading.
