Providing respiratory care in outpatient clinics as well the emergency room and inpatient areas.

Eligibility

  • CNHSA Eligibility Guidelines
  • Must have a medical chart with a CNHSA health facility or:
    • CDIB, letter of descendancy, or tribal membership card from a federally recognized tribe
    • Social security card
    • Photo identification card (driver's license)
    • Current insurance information such as Medicare, Medicaid, or Private Insurance
  • For children under 19 years of age, the following documents are required:
    • Child's CDIB or a copy of either parent's CDIB
    • State issued birth certificate or hospital birth record issued by an Indian Health Service or tribal facility

Additional Information

Respiratory therapists provide education for patients and therapy services according to doctors’ orders. Procedures include arterial blood gases, breathing treatments, incentive spirometry as well as pulmonary function testing.

CPAP and BIPAPs are available, and heart monitor set up, as well as EKGs can be conducted at a physician’s request. Ventilators are available for patients requiring stabilization before transport to a higher level of care. All services require a written order from a physician.

Respiratory therapy is offered 24 hours, seven days per week at the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center in Talihina and five days per week during normal business hours at the Durant Regional Medical Clinic.
