Services Empowering Rural Victims (Project SERV)

A transitional housing program that services 8 to 12 individuals from a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 24 months.

Eligibility

  • Must reside within Choctaw Nation service area
  • Must be a member or have children/dependents of a federally recognized tribe, verified by a tribal membership card and valid CDIB card
  • A victim of intimate partner violence (domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking)
  • Homeless as a result of the victimization

Services

  • Utility and childcare assistance
  • Safety planning
  • Case management (based on a monthly needs assessment)
  • Developing short-term and long-term personal goals
  • Financial literacy skills – budgeting, establishing steady income, short-term and long-term financial goals
  • Support services – Career Development and LIHEAP
  • Legal assistance for child custody and divorce
  • Gas vouchers for transitional housing purposes
