Provides educational, health, nutritional, social and other services deemed necessary to promote school readiness in children aged 3-5.
Eligibility
- Child must be 3-4 years old before September 1st; Preference given to Native American and income eligible children.
- Pay stubs for past 12 months or latest income tax return (1040 or W-2)

Head Start program operation times vary per location. Extended hours are available for parents and guardians who are working or attending classes and have no other childcare options.

Grant Details
Public Law 102-477 is the Indian Employment, Training, and Related Services Demonstration Act of 1992, as amended by Public Law 106-568, the Omnibus Indian Advancement Act of 2000. Public Law 102-477 is unique among Federal legislation, in that it allows Federally-recognized Tribes and Alaska Native entities to combine formula-funded Federal grants funds, which are employment and training-related into a single plan with a single budget and a single reporting system.
