Choctaw Cultural Center to Celebrate Fourth of July

DURANT, Okla. – The Choctaw Cultural Center will host an Independence Day Celebration open to the public on Saturday, July 4. The event will honor 250 years of the United States with fireworks, games, food, and more. Although the Cultural Center will be closed during the day, gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Activities run 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., featuring coloring contests for children and adults, a social dancing demonstration, and opportunities to play Choctaw trivia.

The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. with audio provided by tuning in to KLBC FM.

Guests are welcome to bring personal chairs. Concessions will be available for purchase by the Champuli Café; however no outside food or drink is allowed. The Hvshi Gift Store and restrooms will remain open throughout the event.

Admission is $25 per car at the gate or in advance by visiting July Fourth Celebration – Choctaw Cultural Center. The fireworks show can be viewed from the front patio or the parking lot at the Choctaw Cultural Center, 1919 Hina Hanta Way, in Durant.
