Halito,

Happy Memorial Day!

While today is a tribal holiday, and some of you may be enjoying the day outside with family and friends, I wanted to remind everyone about the significance of this day.

Memorial Day is a day to recognize and mourn the military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces.

We all have or may know of Choctaw family members and friends who also served and died in the U.S. armed forces.

So while you’re enjoying this time off, let’s stop and reflect on the sacrifices that were made, so that we all can enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Yakoke and God bless!
