He likes animals and he liked to work in his garden, growing vegetables, roses, flowers and trees. He moved to Hominy in 1946, living at an oil camp six miles north of town. He moved into town in 1952, buying a home there in 1957. His yard became something of a show place with all his gardening efforts. He was also an avid reader and loved music, especially Spanish music. He was a kind and loving husband and father.
