Green McCurtain Bond was married to Mary Ann (Messecar) Bond they had two daughters Mary Louise (Bond) Wolstad (deceased) and Juanita Jo (Bond) Bush. Grandchildren are Mary Anna (Wolstad) Woodworth; Dianne L. (Wolstad) Headapohl; Janet K. (Wolstad) Catena; James McCurtain Bush and Sussane Kira Bush. Green McCurtain Bond attended Various Indian Schools and also Washington School in Oklahoma City. He was an Accountant, Cashier and worked at Video Theatres in Oklahoma City. Green McCurtain passed away on December 24, 1970 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. My father was proud of many things he had accomplished or had achieved in his life. These are three of the ones that stand out in my mind. He was named after Green McCurtain, the last Chief elected by the Choctaws. He was very proud of his Choctaw heritage. He was proud to have served in World War I, in France. He served with the Army’s 111th Ammunition Train, Company F., 36th Division. He was very proud to have worked for Video Theatres in Oklahoma City, from 1921 to 1970 - 49 years. He was to retire just before his death. I guess the last paragraph of his Necrology by his company, sums up my Father - “there aren’t many people like Green Bond to be found in today’s world. He will be missed.”
