WWI Code Talker Sculpture Unveiling

Thursday, May 22, 2025 · 10AM

The Choctaw Code Talkers used our Indigenous language to transmit coded messages during World War I and II. This representation features a historically accurate and larger-than-life depiction of three Choctaw soldiers. Representations of weapons, uniforms, a map and equipment are recreations of actual World War I items, down to the finest details, including the pencils they carried. At the base, a small luksi (turtle) symbolizes the Choctaws’ commitment to keeping their culture in their hearts while far from home.
