Anthony Dillard - District 10 Candidate

Halito,
It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I announce my candidacy for re-election to the Choctaw Nation tribal council. Over the past 19 plus years it has been a honor and a privilege to serve as your tribal council representative, and I’m seeking your support for another term to continue the work we have started together.
I’m excited to say that we continue to improve the opportunities for our Choctaw people with every passing year. Some of those are increased housing inventory of LEAP homes, affordable rental, and independent elderly units within the district and throughout the reservation.
The one initiative that I may be most proud of is our strategic plan which we have been utilizing within our tribal government, where all three branches of the tribal government come together for quarterly strategic planning sessions where we plan for the future. These plans include immediate, short-term and long-term goals to try and meet the demand of an ever-changing environment we live in today. Some examples of those strategies are.
- Continued support for housing inventory within the district and reservation
- Expansion of the economic development opportunities for our tribal members to increase the standard of living
- Protecting our tribal sovereignty on our tribal reservation
- Sustaining and enhancing our culture mostly through supporting our language initiatives to increase our native speakers
- Increasing efficiencies within our own government spending
- Developing strategies to help support our public education within the reservation to better serve our communities
- Pursuing opportunities to steadily continue to build out our internet accessibility
- Supporting the expansion of the new Health Record System to Epic which will help our health-related outcomes far into the future
This is just a small list of a few priorities we continue to work toward preparing for the future to ensure we can raise the standard of living for our tribal people.
I continue to serve on various community organizations to further my knowledge of events that affect Choctaw Nation and its residents.
Again, I ask for your support to continue to serve the Choctaw people.
Yakoke
