Jennifer Byram's work is inspired by the textiles of pre-contact Choctaw people. She processes traditional fiber materials and also makes finished traditional textiles. Commissions accepted upon artist availability.
Jennifer Byram works to revitalize traditional Choctaw textiles. Her work includes processing native fibers, spinning, dyeing, twining, oblique interlacing, and making clothing items. She also work with many other techniques including jewelry making, beading, weaving, and tatting.
Jennifer studied internationally and returned to work for her tribe in the Historic Preservation department. She organizes monthly textile workshops and teaches these traditional techniques within the Choctaw community.
