Member Benefits and Support

What other services does the Tribal Membership Department provide?

Membership Verifications to confirm your membership, including Membership Verification Letters, and/or a digital image of a Membership Card. For other membership verification forms, please contact the department in person, by phone, or by email.

What benefits do I get as a member?

Please visit the Programs and Services webpage for information on available services.

What is the difference between a CDIB and Tribal Membership, and do I need both?

Tribal Membership builds upon a foundational connection and reflects a deeper commitment to the rights, responsibilities, and values that sustain the Choctaw Nation. Membership is recommended, as services are not impacted by holding a CDIB. Tribal Members are eligible for CNO services for Native Americans and Tribal Members, and most eligibility standards recognize Federally Recognized Tribal Membership. Please note that eligibility requirements may vary by service or organization. Tribal Members may use their physical Membership card or contact our office to request a Membership verification letter. For a detailed comparison of CDIB and Tribal Membership (effective October 1, 2025), view the
CDIB vs. Tribal Membership Comparison (PDF).

Do Choctaw members get checks every month?

No, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma does not issue per capita payments. For other check-related services, visit the CNO services webpage for available assistance.

Do you help relocate to the reservation?

The Tribal Membership Department does not provide relocation services.

Is my ancestor’s land still available to claim?

Please contact the Real Property Department for more information.
