The following services are free of charge as staff and time allow for places within the Choctaw Nation area of historic interest.
- Provide technical assistance to tribal members and communities, historic property owners and managers, CNO leadership and departments, Chahta Foundation, and the public, including on the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
- Collect, archive, document, and research properties for the Choctaw Cultural Places Inventory. Conduct a site visit and brief interviews with the property’s owners, managers, and/or local historians, and photograph buildings and features for the digital site forms.
- Review historic structure documentation for eligibility to the Choctaw Register and National Register of Historic Places.
- Assist property owners and other individuals in nominating or updating properties to the Choctaw Register and National Register of Historic Places and assist in historic context research related to those properties.
- Assist in reviewing programmatic agreements, preservation covenants, easements, and codes for standing structures.
