McNew Islam Thomas

McNew Islam Thomas, 80, passed away Sept. 7, 2023.

McNew was born Oct. 4, 1942, in Talihina, Okla., to Impson Mataha Thomas and Lizzie Mae Wilson Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clarence Thomas, Jimmy Ray Thomas, and Wrightsman Thomas; sister Hazel Wilson; and great-grandson Nashoba Bryan Smith.

McNew is survived by his wife Nadine Thomas; children Ruby Gay and Mike McLaughlin, Paula Weathers, Eva Smith, and adopted daughter Carolyn Nicholas and spouse Roy; brothers Gerald Don Thomas, Lester Thomas, and Impson Mataha Thomas Jr.; sister Ruby Harjo; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
