Ann Spence Parker

Ann Spence Parker, 78, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ann was born on April 25, 1943, in Los Angeles, California to James Elmer and Juanita Spence. She was 1 of 6 children: JC, Jerrel, Richard, Joe, Ann, and Carolyn.

As a young child she lived in Antlers, OK and then the family moved to Oklahoma City. Her mom sent her to Waxahachie, TX to live with her brother JC and sister-in-law Faye Spence to attend school at Ed Coe Christian School. She went back to her mom and stepdads for one year of middle school and then eventually graduated from Southwestern Bible Institute in Waxahachie, TX in 1961.

Ann worked in downtown Dallas, TX at Hartford Insurance as a mail clerk after high school. She attended Southwestern Bible College from 1965-1966. Ann reunited with the love of her life Frank Parker and started a family in 1969 in Hugo, Oklahoma. They had twin daughters Anita and Juanita. They moved to Sherman, Texas shortly after. After spending 28 years in Sherman, they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1997 to be with their daughters and family. Ann was married to Frank Parker until his death in 2005.

After Franks death she devoted all her time to her children and grandchildren, and serving in her community and church, Spring Creek Assembly of God.

Ann, a follower of Christ, served in many areas in her communities in Texas and Oklahoma over the years. She taught a Sunday School class for 4-year-olds, sang in the church choir, directed women’s ministry, oversaw funeral luncheons, served in street ministry in OKC, visited shut-ins, cooked, sent cards to the sick, and supported missionaries.

She loved her family like no other, with a love that was not from this world. She shared the love of Christ to all she met and helped all she could, either with a word of encouragement or by meeting a practical need. She never forgot a birthday and always made them special.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Parker, mother Juanita Price, Father James Spence, stepfather Hardy Price, grandparents Charles and Agnes Middleton, James and Mary Spence and brothers Richard, Jerrel, JC, and Joe Spence.

She leaves her daughter Anita Parker, daughter Juanita Lawson and husband Terry, grandson Joshua Lawson and wife Shayla, great-grandson Beckett Lawson, grandsons Josiah Lawson and Stephen Lawson, sister Carolyn Boatner and husband Steve, sisters-in-law Judy and Faye Spence and Ruth Maynard, and numerous nephews and nieces.
