First modern-day Choctaw jury trial ends in conviction

By Shelia Kirven On July 20, 2020, the first modern-day jury trial was held at the Choctaw Nation Judicial Center in Durant. A 39-year-old Choctaw citizen was tried for grand larceny for the theft of a semi-truck full of lumber from the Grant, Oklahoma Travel Plaza on Nov. 3, 2016.
