Built in 1884, the Choctaw Capitol Museum Building, also known to many as the original Council House, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Museum Grounds include a Five Acre Historic Lawn with Aged Shade Trees where Choctaw Stickball, Choctaw Weddings, Choctaw Social Dancing and Inter-Tribal Pow-wows take place during the Labor Day Festival each year.
