Matilda Bohanan had one brother, Wesley Bohanan, who was also an original enrollee. Matilda Bohanan attended Tuskahoma Female Academy until the eighth grade, and Murray State School until the tenth grade. She then attended Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kansas from January 1922 through December 1923. Matilda Bohanan married Roland Lester Rampey Muskogee, Oklahoma. They lived in Porter, Oklahoma and McAlester, Oklahoma until her death (of tuberculosis) on June 8, 1931 at the hospital in Talihina. Matilda Bohanan Rampey had one son, Wesley LeRoy Rampey, born February 24, 1927 and two grandchildren: Clifton dean Rampey, born June 21, 1960 Laura Leigh Rampey, born December 14, 1963 Matilda Bohanan’s first job was as clerk (No. 1A) at $1,320 a year, at the Leupp Agency, Arizona. She then worked for a time at Fort Defiance, Arizona.
