Elsie Moses Submitted by: Mike Bailey, grandson

Elsie Moses was born November 17, 1900 in Philadelphia, Miss. And was an original enrollee. Her parents were Ike and Ann Moses. She traveled by train to Indian Territory, which would later become the State of Oklahoma, in 1902. Elsie attended school at Wheelock Academy for girls until she was 16 years of age. Later, she married Ike Henry Foster in 1917 at Antlers, Oklahoma. To this union was born three children: Ike Henry Foster, died at birth, Henry Clayton Foster and Elsie Marie Foster. Elsie had four grandchildren: Billy Bailey, Randy Bailey, Tim Foster, and Mike Bailey. Elsie was a mother and grandmother who was very caring and concerned about the future of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending tribal functions and Pow Wows. She was also very interested in tribal affairs. Elsie had a deep concern for young people and thoroughly enjoyed her family. She passed away in May of 1986 and will be best remembered for her true concern for her family.
