Lyman Moore, Jr. was born in Skullyville, Indian Territory on October 23, 1874 to Lyman Moore, Sr. and Susan (McClain) Moore. He married Ida McCurtain in June 1899. She was the daughter of the late Principal Chief Jack McCurtain and Jane Frances (Austin) McCurtain. Lyman, Jr. was county clerk and treasurer of Skullyville County, Choctaw Nation, before Oklahoma became a state. He also served as Vice-president of the First National Bank of Spiro and at the reorganization of The Farmers State Bank of Spiro in 1920; he became its president with said band having absorbed the First National Bank. He was a Mason, Blue Lodge and shriner and was an active businessman, banker and farmer for many years at Spiro. Mr. And Mrs. Lyman Moore, Jr. was parents to Ethan Allen Moore, Jessie Irene, who married Lloyd Barker, Frances Eugenia Moore, wife of Dr. C. W. Moore and they had one child, George Clifford Moore.
