Ethel Lewis was born to Howard Eugene Lewis and Alice Jane (Kincaid) Lewis on 11-02-1902 at LeFlore, Indian Territory. She was the oldest of nine children. Howard Eugene Lewis was born 01-19-1871. Alice (Kincaid) Lewis was born 12-26-1885. A brother, William Joseph Lewis was born in 1904 and was an enrollee, also. Her first marriage was to Joe Barrick 06-02-1918 and one child was born to this union, a son named Joe Barrick, Jr. After his death, she married Martin E. Duncan in 1926 and lived in LeFlore County. They had five children: Virginia, Jane, Marshal, Eugene, and Earl Duncan so they raised a family of six children, which are still living. Her husband, Martin is deceased but she still lives in the same place where she and Martin moved to in 1928. Hughes was a mining town, which was called “four camp”. She has 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. Alice Jane Kincaid was born to William “Scott” Lewis and Lucinda Nail. Their children were Josephine Lewis, Howard Eugene Lewis and William. Lucinda Died circa 1873-74 near Caddo or Atoka with TB. Family history told that these three children went to live with an “Aunt Tillie” who also raised a number of orphan children.
