Ida Mae Jones Ida Mae Jones Gardner, original Choctaw enrollee #5208, born March 16, 1896 in Choctaw County, celebrated her 99th birthday March 16, 1995 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Ida was married in 1919 to Rev. C.A. Gardner, Sr., an original Choctaw enrollee #13162. Rev. Gardner was a preacher among the Choctaw Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in southeastern Oklahoma for about 50 years. The Gardners lived in Choctaw County near Boswell for many years. Rev. C.A. Gardner passed away October 22, 1992 at the age of 96. The Rev. C.A. and Ida Gardner are the parents of the late Choctaw Chief, C. David Gardner, who passed away January 13, 1978. Attending the birthday celebration were: Daughters: Betty Clinkenbeard of Claremore, Oklahoma; Lazona Anderson of Bonner Springs, Kansas. Sons: C.A. Gardner, Jr. of Boswell, Oklahoma; George Gardner, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also attending were two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ida was active in all the Choctaw Cumberland Presbyterian Church activities and has many fond memories of friends.
