Bethel Eugene Anderson

Bethel Eugene Anderson was born August 17, 1895 in Talihina Indian Territory and died November 17, 1945. He was the son of Crawford John Anderson (Roll # 5489) and Serena Benton Anderson. He had one full sister, Alice M Anderson (Roll # 5491). She married Lee Elliott and divorced. Later she married Andy Lavender and had one daughter.
Bethel had one half-sister, Myrtle S Anderson (roll# 5493). She married Lee Stafford and they had our sons and two daughters.
Bethel had one half-brother, John Gilbert Anderson (Roll# 44) Minor Choctaw by blood. He married Ruth Rambo and they had one son and one daughter. The Broken Bow Clinic is named after John G. Anderson. He also had one step-brother, Leslie James, who is on the Choctaw Council and lives east of Talihina.
Bethel is the grandson of Capt. John Anderson and Elizabeth Perry Anderson.
Bethel went to school some at Jones Academy and other schools. By trade he was a brick and rock mason worker. He helped build the Indian Hospital at Talihina and was employed there at the time of his death.
Bethel married Gertie Lee Elliott on November 9, 1913 at Prairie Grove. They had ten children, eight which grew to adulthood.
