The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is very proud of the story of the original Code Talkers and has a granite monument at the entrance to the Capitol Grounds at Tushka Homma (Choctaw for red warrior) that bears the engraved names of the men who used the Choctaw Language to help win World War I. The Choctaw Nation, under the leadership of Chief Gregory E. Pyle and Assistant Chief Gary Batton, offers Choctaw Language as an accredited course in public schools and free Choctaw language and history classes over the Internet.
