Steven Wayne Wilson, 63, passed away March 17, 2009, in Paris, Texas. He was born July 20, 1945, in Oklahoma City.

Steve married Judy Bailey on March 15, 1968, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Steve and Judy moved to Hugo in 1969. He worked as the superintendent for the City of Hugo Water and Waste Water Treatment Department for 12 years. He then worked as a control room operator for WFEC for 15 years before early retirement due to health. Steve was active in Hugo working with the Boy Scouts for many years where he received numerous volunteer honors. In addition, he worked with children at church in many capacities. Steve enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He played so often that he actually worked as the manager for Rock Creek Golf Course for many years after his retirement. Steve studied and received his ordination for the Methodist Church where he served and preached for many years around the county. He just loved helping people in any way. He was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Hugo.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janae Wilson; stepfather, Jack Hendren; and sister, Karen Sue Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Wilson of Hugo; son, Scott Wilson of Hugo; mother, Mary Scott Hendren of Oklahoma City; father and stepmother, Howard and Sadie Wilson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; half-sisters, Gaye Liddle of Yukon and Jan Bricker of Edmond; half-brothers, Lynn Wilson of Albuquerque and James Wilson of New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
