The Rev. Harvey Thedo Williams, 71, of Broken Bow passed away on June 13, 2008. He was born November 6, 1936, in Finley to Harvey T. and Ethel Jane Sherred Williams.

Harvey was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army. He and Mary Basler Colbert were united in marriage on March 9, 1985. Harvey surrendered to the ministry in 1987 and in 1988, he began preaching in the Idabel Southern Methodist University and completed that in 1993. Harvey loved preaching the word of God and had pastored several other circuits including the Chickasaw, Finley, Broken Arrow , and the Glover circuit. He enjoyed gospel singings, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edna Gibson.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harvey Ted Williams, Durant, and Jerry Williams, Union, Mississippi; four daughters, Ethel Williams, Durant, Cathy Chapman, Eufaula, Sandra Jimison, New Lebanon, Ohio, and Amy Johnson, Cowetta; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Norma and Andy Choate, Lourena and Steve Billy, and Bennie Gibson, all of Finey; two brothers, John Dixon and Renee Williams of Bryan, Texas, and Mose Williams, Eagletown; special aunt, Rebecca Noah, Finley; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
