George K. Kechi Wilemon, 87, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2005. He was born September 1, 1917, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and resided in Kern County for 46 years.
He was a U.S. veteran, serving his country during World War II. George was very proud of his Choctaw Indian heritage, faithfully attending the Choctaw gatherings held each year in Choctaw Valley.
Kechi loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served him for 45 years at Liberty Christian Center Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Pauline Wilemon.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mabel Wilemon; sons, Wesley Wilemon and Alan Wilemon; daughters, Leoma Dempsey, Ramona Price, Suzette Garza, and Letha Suiter; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed for his wonderful personality and sharp wit.
