Everett Washington, 71, of Howe, Oklahoma passed away Novenber 11, 1999 in Poteau, Oklahoma. A lifelong resident of the Heavener/Howe area, he was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Choctaw Nation.

As an active member of the Choctaw Nation, he assisted in the coordination of numerous Choctaw events. He had many professions, but was best known for his reforestation contracts. He also had a long history of contributions to the Cal Farley Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.

His last years were dedicated to his family, both biological and foster children. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esias and Hattie Washington.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of the home;daughter, Lisa Washington of Howe;sons, Travis Washington of Talihina, Oklahoma, Roger Washington of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Rick Washinton of Poteau, Oklahoma, Wendell Washington and Eric Washington, both of Heavener, Brian King and Troy King of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Daniel Elam, Darrin and Jordan Barton, all of the home;brothers, Arthur Pete Peters of Harris, Oklahoma and Charles Hallum of Garvin Oklahoma; grandchildren Kevin Washington Brice Washington and Baby Washington all of Heavener Roger Washington Jr. of Laguna Nigud, California Michelle Stevens of Muskogee, Oklahoma Leigh Ann Washington of Poteau Oklahoma Christopher Washington of Tahlequah and Jerra Washington of Howe; and three great grandchildren.
