Anderson Winship, 95, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, June 25, 2000 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born December 25, 1904, the son of Isaac and Ennitte Winship. Born in Indian Territory, Mr. Anderson was an original enrollee of the Choctaw Nation.

He was a member of Tohwali United Methodist Church, enjoyed fishing and hunting and had lived in the Broken Bow area most of his life.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by nine brothers, two sisters, one grandson, two granddaughters, two sons, one daughter, and one stepdaughter.

Survivors include four sons, Cornelius Winship of Fort Worth, Texas, Clifford Winship of Vernon, Texas, Jimmy Winship of Oleta, Oklahoma and Kenneth Winship of Hugo, Oklahoma; seven daughters, Irene Priest of Tennessee, Rena Going of Fort Worth, Barbra Battiest and Lynn Winship, both of Broken Bow, Una Harley of Idabel, Oneida Winship of Durant, Oklahoma and Dean Winship of Paris , Texas; three brothers, Aaron Baker and Floyd Baker, both of Battiest, Oklahoma and Owen Baker of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Mary Tisho of Broken Bow and Edith Gem of California; 32 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 53 great-grandchidlren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
