    Ola Jacklee Vanriette, 66, of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away October 15, 1999. She was born November 27, 1932 in Mena, Arkansas to Jimmy and Della Bryant.

    She was a member of the Greenhill Baptist Church in Talihina and was very active in her church work. She married Dave Vanriette on December 23, 1950 in Talihina. She lived in the Talihina community all her life.

    Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Vanriette of Poteau, Oklahoma and Robert Vanriette of Muskogee, Oklahoma; five daughters, Julie Vanriette of Poteau, Melinda Houser of Pleasonton, Texas, and Sherry Shankle of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; an adopted granddaughter, Myria Lee Sutton of Heavener, Oklahoma; sister, Opal Friess; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

    She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Halderman.

    Frances J. Lingo Vasquez, 87, passed away March 10, 1999 in Sebastopol, California.

    A member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, she arrived in California during the Great Depression and maintained roots in the Healdsburg, California area for 65 years, even as she traveled around the state during earlier years following the crops.

    Later she spent years working as a cook and sometimes waitress at the Iceberg Cade, a place old-timers still remember. She also cooked at the Timber Lodge Hotel near Bodega Bay where several movie stars.

    Jessie Irene “Dolly” Vanderwall was born January 11, 1906 to Lyman R. Moore and Ida McCurtain Moore. She passed away July 31, 1997 in a Muskogee, Oklahoma nursing home at the age of 91 years.

    She was an “Original Choctaw Enrollee” and was very proud of her Indian heritage. Her grandfather was Jackson Frazier McCurtain who was Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation. Her grandmother, Jane Austin McCurtain also had a prominent role in Indian affairs.

    Dolly graduated from Spiro High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She was employed at Tinker Air Base during World War II, and she was a school teacher.

    She was a long time resident of Spiro and a member of the First Methodist Church.

    She is survived by her sister, Eugenia Moore of Stillwater, Oklahoma and numerous cousins.

    Amanda loved all things outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She always made sure the family got together for holidays and special occasions.

    She was preceded in death by two aunts, Rhonda Kathleen Blansett and Elizabeth Blansett.

Ames of Shawnee; aunts, Kim Manness of Iowa Park, Texas, and Nona Colegrove of Bristow; cousins, Joshua D. Colegrove, Cassandra Colegrove and Elizabeth R. Colegrove, all of Bristow, Mellisa N. Colegrove of Midwest City, and Autumn M. Colegrove and Nick L. Colegrove of Manford.

    Also, four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Gregory of Broken Bow; brother, Jimmy Sherwood of Arkansas; stepsister, Josephine Shoemaker of Madill; and former husband Vernon Vaughn and wife Wanda of DeQueen, Arkansas.

    Warren Vincent Vilott, 89, passed away April 28, 2009, at his home north of Alamogordo, New Mexico, surrounded by his family. He was born December 18, 1919, in Oklahoma City to Trevor Vilott and Rebecca Nelson. He retired from the Air Force after 28 years o active duty around the world, starting before World War II in the Army Air Corps. He worked as an aerial reconnaissance photographer during and after WWII. He was involved in the very beginnings of the space age of weightlessness with photographing the effects of various experiments while in the belly of specially lying aircraft. Upon retirement from the Air Force, he went to work for the U.S. Post Ofice in Alamogordo. He made many friends there and many remember him from that position. He was past master of the Sacramento Lodge No. 24 in Alamogordo, and belonged to the Masononic Lodge for all of his adult life. He also worked with young men through the DeMolay group helping to develop a stronger youth. Warren was an avid bowler and played in may state leagues over the years, where he and his wife Laura, were members of many leagues. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2004. Survivors include his son, Gary Vilott and wife Helen of Mary Esther, Florida; two daughters, Vivkie Rought and husband Mike of Alamogordo and Katy Jarman and husband Mike; grandchildren, Ken Rought and wife Cherrie of Peoria, Arizona, Cherrell, Jennifer Clark and husband Jason of Gardendale, Alabama, and Nathan Jarman and wife Lacey of Orlando, Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Justin Clark of Gardendale..
