Shyatesa Shy Michelle Tenequer, 20, a lifelong Atoka resident, passed away March 24, 2009, at Blackjack, Oklahoma. She was born January 14, 1989, at Ada to Michael Tenequer and Tiffanie Eskue.
Shy attended elementary and high school at Atoka, graduating in 2007. She worked as a secretary. She was a member of Atoka First Baptist Church, was Atoka County Choctaw Nation Princess for three years in a row and enjoyed writing poems and hanging out with friends.
Survivors include her parents, Tiffanie Eskue Alexander of McAlester and Michael Tenequer and wife Lucreta of Garland, Texas; stepfather, Guy Alexander; brothers, Christopher Tenequer of Ada, Jared Tenequer of Garland and Jordan Alexander of McAlester; sisters, Breanna Roberts of Garland and Jessica Paige Tenequer, Nicole Alexander and Saphire Alexander, all of McAlester; niece, Jacklyn Paige Tenequer of McAlester; grandparents, Margaret Lewis Tenequer of Atoka, Royce Wayne Tenequer of Lawton and John Eskue and wife Linda of Atoka; great-grandmothers, Waunetta Eskue of Antlers and Doris Moton of Atoka; great-aunt, Faye Lewis of Dallas; aunts, Janet Mitchell and husband Stuart of Casa Grande, Arizona, Valerie Eskue and fiancÈ Chris Hubanks of Sanger, and Shawna Jones and husband Sean of Edmond; special friend, Robert Stephens of Caney; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
