Marion Emmitt Talley, 77, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed away Friday, June 19, 1998. He was born August 31, 1920 in Mead, Oklahoma to Marion and Annie (Thomas) Talley. His mother, Annie was an original Choctaw enrollee.

Mr. Talley volunteered for the U.S. Army when he was 16 years old and spent his World War II service years in the Pacific Theater. He served in the Signal Corps and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1945, he received his honorable discharge.

He was a member of the VFW in Duncan and the local Pipefitters Union 344 of Oklahoma City. He was a retired union pipefitter and was a roughneck in the oil field from 1945 to 1963.

He married Jessie Helen Wilson on September 24, 1947 in Denison, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Gene Talley of Oklahoma City and Danny Talley and wife, Bonnie, of Duncan; two brothers, Alton Talley and wife, Jewel, of Mead and Clovis Talley and wife, Billie of Odessa, Texas; four sisters, Geraline Thomas and husband, Jay, of Mead, Marlene Luter and husband, Karl, of Bokchito, Linda Boaen of Calera and Sue Mooney and husband, Ronnie, of Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
