Julius Taylor, 94, passed away May 24, 2005. He was born May 16, 1911.
Mr. Taylor loved the Lord and at times was seen reading his Choctaw Bible and hymns. The Lord gave him the gift of tickling the ivory keys for various churches in both Oklahoma and Texas. Although he never took lessons or read sheet music, he learned how to play the piano by ear.
He moved his family to Dallas, Texas, in July 1959 and retired in the late 1970s. He had attended United Indian Methodist Church in Dallas. He was faithful in church until his health prevented him from attending.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Taylor, and sons, Ernest Taylor, Raymond Taylor, and Edgar Taylor.
Survivors include his children, Williston Taylor of Antlers, Oklahoma, Melvina Washington of Hayward, California, Juanita Caudill of San Diego, California, Nadine Smith of Ada, Oklahoma, Virginia Tafoya of Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Elizabeth Osage of Dallas; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
We will greatly miss Julius and he will always be remembered and treasured in our memories.
