William Otis (W.O.) Sirmans, 78, of Hartshorne passed away January 16, 2006, at his home. He was born March 9, 1927, in Brooken, the son of Daniel Willis and Elpha Criner Sirmans. He married Blanche Bales on January 18, 1947, in McAlester. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Plunkett-Hancock American Legion Post No. 180 in Hartshorne. He enjoyed gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Vernon Sirmans and Wilburn Troy Sirmans; and his grandparents, William O. and Elsa Frazier Sirmans and Mr. and Mrs. Criner.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie Ann and Julius Hass of Hartshorne; his grandchildren, Melissa and Joe Whitehouse and Courtney and Perry Johnson Jr.; great-grandchildren, Meara Johnson and Perry Johnson III; and three sisters, Ima Lorene Barnes of Hartshorne, Laverne Melendy of Tulsa and Uvonne Gianini of Hartshorne.
