Verna Estene Stamback, 62, passed away July 21, 2004, in a Lubbock, Texas, hospital. She was born July 30, 1941, in Indio, California, to Vernon and Ruby Estelle (Williams) Plaster. She was the granddaughter of Henry and Josephine Mathis Plaster.

She married Mel Stamback on September 15, 1956, in San Jacinto, California. Mrs. Stamback moved to Graham, Texas, in 1992 from Amarillo with her husband to pastor the Abundant Life Center Church in Graham. She was a member of Impact Ministries and the Abundant Life Center. She loved to garden and to read. She made beautiful quilts for her grandchildren. She was very active in her church and was a wonderful Bible teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Carnes.

Survivors include her husband, Mel Stamback of Graham, Texas; four daughters, Lovelle Goretskie and husband, George, and Renee Hargrove and husband, Charles, all of Lubbock, Texas, DanaKay Tinney and husband, Ray, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and Janelle Simons of Graham; sister, Sandra Van Der Linden of Hemet, California; 13 grandchildren, Jill and husband, David Haymes, Stefan Goretskie and wife, Melissa, Geoffrey Goretskie and wife, Maria, Stacey Walton and husband, Chris, Diana Hargrove, Robert White III, Charles Hargrove III, Andrea and Alissa Tinney, Kenneth John Morrill III, and Nicole, BreAnna and Kendra Walker; and three great-grandchildren, Jay Vasquez, Myka Walton and Ashton Goretskie.
