Minnie Simmons age 94 of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on January 5, 1998 in McAlester. She was born on September 14, 1903 in Bryan County Indian Territory to John and Maude Bracket Guess. She attended Goodland and Tuskahoma Indian Schools before attending the Presbyterian College in Durant.

She married Claude D Simmons in September 1925 in Quinton Oklahoma. She retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and was an original enrollee of the Choctaw Tribe. She was also a member of the Victory Park Baptist Church and the Eufaula Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Ruth Jackson and Vivian Frazier; a brother, Lester Guess; a daughter Sybil Drew Jaynes; a son, Jack F Simmons; two sons in law Ralph E. Drew Everett and Robert E Drew Sr, and a grandson, Robert E Drew Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Claude (Pokie) Everett of McAlester; seven grandchildren and spouses, Claudia and Gary Lester of Dayton, Nevada, Richard Simmons of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, David and Lisa Everett of McAlester Iris Ann Drew of Santa Fe, new Mexico, Stanley and Donna Drew of Tempe Arizona, Pricilla Drew of Muskogee and Michael Drew of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Zona Hastings of Carson City, Nevada, and Eloise Guess of California; a brother and sister in law, Herman Bruce and Louise Guess of California; eleven great grandchildren and spouses, Dennis and Andrea Lester of Eureka Illinois, Brian and Stacy Lester of Midwest City Oklahoma, April and Paul Savola of Dayton Nevada, Jenna and Jessica Everett of McAlester, Luke Drew of Santa Fe, Baylor Bear Drew of Tempe, Melanie Mace of Minnesota, Sarah brown of Muskogee and Serenity and Jennifer Drew of Winnebago Nebraska; six great great grandchildren and several nephews and cousins.
