Lucille Heck Schofer, 88, passed away April 27, 2000 in Idylwood Care Center of Sunnyvale, California. She was born January 28, 1912 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mattie Maybell Wallace and Tom Mitchell Heck.

Lucille married Howard Schofer of Utica, New York in 1941. At the time, Howard was serving in the Air Force and was stationed at Moffett Field Army-Air Force Base in Mt. View.

She enjoyed being a homemaker. During her husband’s years of service, they traveled throughtout the United States and all over the world. Mr. Schofer served for 25 years and retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. After his death in 1984, Mrs. Schofer continued to enjoy traveling with her dear frind, Erna Root. The Schofers were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church since 1956. Lucille served the church community with love and devotion for many years. She taught Sunday School to the children for many years. She also served as president of the Womens’s Group.

Survivors include sister, Christine Heck of Santa Clara; nieces, Donna Parnell and her family of Santa Clara and Pat Mochel and her family of Salinas, California and several other nieces, nephews and cousins throughtout Southern California and Oklahoma.
