Louisa Marie (Ott) Sam, 85, passed away October 17, 2004. She was born April 30, 1919, at Haywood, Oklahoma, to Minnie Traut and Sam Ott Sr.

She was joined in marriage to Charley Sam on February 14, 1938, at Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Louisa had a generous spirit and loving nature. During her life, she not only raised her eight children, but she also worked outside the home as a restaurant worker, home care provider, and cotton-picker. She will be remembered for the many times she helped others in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Tommy Sam; granddaughters, Alyce Sam and Pamela Sam; grandson, Dennis Sam Jr.; great-grandson, Danny Sam; sister, Ruth Sexton; three brothers, Bill Ott, Ezekial Ott and Sam Ott Jr., and daughter-in-law, Mary Sam.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Sam and wife, Kay, Dennis Sam and wife, Friga, and John Henry Sam, all of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Sam and wife, Emma, of Kyle, South Dakota; three daughters, Sue Hood and husband, Murray, of Quinton, Oklahoma, Bessie Sam of McAlester, and Louise Mitchell and husband, Bill, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; her favorite niece, Rose Munholland of Border, Texas, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Louisa is loved and cherished by her large extended family. Her loving nature will be forever in their hearts.
