Leslie S. Shelton, 39, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away August 15, 2004, at her residence. She was born July 27, 1965, in Ada to Glen and Sharon Carmelia (Colbert) Shelton.

She graduated from Byng High School in 1983 and later earned her bachelor’s degree in science at Cimarron College.

Ms. Shelton served in the U.S. Army from which she retired after 16 years of service with an honorable discharge as 1st Sergeant. She received many accommodations including the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. She lived in several different areas including Seoul, Korea, Ft. Sill and Oklahoma City. She moved back to the Ada area from Augusta, Georgia, in 2003. She was also a member of Philemon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Theodore Roosevelt Colbert and Henryetta Marie (Harp) Colbert.

Survivors include her parents, Glen and Sharon C. Shelter; a dear friend, Marshall Turner; two sisters, Carol Parker and husband, Reggie, and Alexandria Shelton, and a niece, Armani Parker.
