Ella Louise Raney, 92, of Stigler died July 21, 1997 at the Haskell County Nursing Center.

Funeral services were held July 26, 1997 at the First Untied Methodist Church of Stigler with Rev. Donald Horton, Rev. James Edmison and Mr. Bob White officiating. Burial was in Stigler Cemetery.

Raney taught piano at the Oklahoma School for the Blind in Muskogee and taught private lessons for numerous years. She was also the organist at the First United Methodist Church of Stigler for over 58 years and was a former choir director. She obtained her Masters degree in Music from the Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri and the American Conservatory in Chicago, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and one son, Clark Frank Raney.

She is survived by one daughter Mimi Raney White of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Ruth Clark Bradt of Stigler and Phebe Varner of Poteau; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
