Michael Jay Pitts, 47, of Stigler passed away February 14, 2009, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born December 11, 1961, in Coalinga, California.

Michael enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved to work with his hands; and in his later years when he was mostly homebound, he built many models of aircraft and other military memorabilia. Although Michael was quiet, he was friendly to everyone, loved to laugh and never met a stranger. Michael never complained about the medical hardships that he had to endure.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Scott James Pitts; paternal grandparents, Charlie H. and Julia E. Pitts; and maternal grandmother, Hester Marie Cronic.

Survivors include his mother of the home; two sisters, Julie Marie Klineline and husband Cole of Sallisaw and Ramona Rhea Pitts of Roland; brother, Randy Wayne Pitts of Bakersfield; nephew, Zachary Klineline of Sallisaw; nieces, Rebekah Klineline of Sallisaw and Tanya Pitts Higbee of Fresno, California.
