Christine Billy Poynor, born March 11, 1927 at Tannehill Prairie, Oklahoma, passed away January 10, 1999 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City after a long, courageous battle with Lupus. A Choctaw, she lived most of her life in Oklahoma City. She was a graduate of Blackwood Business College, was a volunteer at the Native American Salvation Army in south Oklahoma City and a member of Oklahoma Choctaws in Oklahoma City.

She is survived by daughter, LeAnne Howe and son-in-law, James Wilson of Iowa City, Iowa; son, Billy Poynor, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Poynor of Oklahoma City; daughters, Auda Goomda and Kathy Poynor of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Joe Craig, Randy Craig, Donnie Goomda, Eli and Lacey Poynor; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys Hosay of McAlester, Oklahoma. Her sister, Evelyn Pickens, passed away shortly after Christine.
