Sealin Carterby Carney Marris, 64, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away March 15, 2000. A full-blooded Choctaw, she was born to Jacob and Edna Carterby on June 24, 1935 in Bethal, Oklahoma. She attended Chilocco, graduating in 1955. She lived in California for several years and married Virgil Carney in 1958. She returned to Ardmore in 1973 where she worked at Carter Seminary for several years and various other jobs including being s foster grandparent for the Chickasaw Nation Head Start.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Julies Carterby, and two sisters, Minnie Dwight and Susan Tom.

Survivors include one son, Daniel W. Carney of Ardmore; three daughters, Dana Carney and Donna Carney Taylor, both of Ardmore, and Debra Carney of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Myrtle Strait of Whittier, California, and her twin Cealis Carterby of Ardmore; eight grandchildren, Erica Carney, Darnell Taylor, Matt Taylor, Rein Taylor, Ethan Taylor and Zachary Reed all of Ardmore, and Garrett Carney and Desiree Parker both of Russell; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Walls and Britney Carney, both of Ardmore.
