Ralph McAlvain passed away on September 7, 1995. He was 81. He was born on July 27, 1914 in Wister, Oklahoma to John Walter and Effie Mae Brazeal McAlvain. He spent most of his life as a farmer, but also worked at North American and Douglas. As a farmer, he raised both cattle and quarter horses. He enjoyed spending time at his church, Liberty Free Will Baptist, listening to gospel music. He married Martha Henshall in Claremore, Oklahoma in 1933 and she survives him. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ona Hill and Robbie McAlvain. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Doris and Jim Shepherd of Oologah and Ada and Ted Vancuren of Owassa, Oklahomal; five grandchildren; eight grat-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Nela and Harold Givens of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Polk and Louise McAlvain of Oogah.
