King Martin Mowdy, age 93, of Honobia, Oklahoma, was born on July 17, 1901 in Smithville, Indian Territory. He passes away on March 28, 1995 in Ft Smith, Arkansas.

He has lived in the Ludlow area most of his life. He was a member of the Protestant faith. He was married to Hildred Akins on January 27, 1925 in Ludlow, Oklahoma and was married for 70 years.

He was a member of A.F & A.M. Masonic Lodge #154 of Heavener, Oklahoma since 1958. He was a retired rancher and farmer, a retired blade operator and bridge engineer of the LeFlore County Highway Department for 20 years. He was very active in politics, was well-know throughout the area for his kindness and help in any way to the public.

He was proceeded in death by one son, R.B. Mowdy in July of 1964.

His survivors include his wife, Hildred, of he home; one son, Drew Mowdy of Honobia; three daughters, Lorene and Connie Williams of Honobia and Pat Allgood of Pilar, New Mexico; one brother, L.B. Mowdy of Smithville, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ollie Hamby of SUrant, Oklahoma and Dovie Rone of Idabel, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous fiends and loved ones
