George A. Michie Jr., 92, of the Frink community passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at McBride Bone and Joint Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born March 19, 1910 in Wade, Oklahoma, the son of George A. Michie, Sr. and Gertrude Hickman Michie.

He married Edith Adam.

Mr. Michie retired as a supervisor from the McAlester Army Ammunition Depot. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a Boy Scout leader for several years He was a member of Lakewood Christian Church.

His parents and a brother, Eugene Michie, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Edith, of the home; sons, George A. Michie III and wife, Jean, of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Gary Michie of Oklahoma City; daughters, Dr. Joyce Gelfond and husband, Dr. Steve Gelfond, of San Antonio, Texas, and Catherine Estill and husband, Wayne of McAlester; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Long of Denver, Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
