Elmo G. Moran was born on September 5, 1926 and passed away on December 8, 1996.
He was in World War II, Korean War and did two tours of Viet Nam before retiring in 1968. He was a member of the DAV, the Mid-TX Coonhunter Association and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He was an avid fisher and hunter. He especially loved to coonhunt.
He was born on September 5, 1926 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Elmo G. and Mary Ann (Evans) Moran. He married Juanita Young on August 6, 1957. Together they had nine children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles E. Moran, Sr. and sister, Evelyn Williams.
Survivors include his wife, five daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Moran and Tom Higgins of Austin, Texas, Mary and Charles Sykora and Brenda and Dickie Ferguson, both of Waco, Texas, Betty and Kenny Herron of Indiana and Ginny and Shane Simmons of Tyler, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda Moran, Chester and Tonya Moran, Leslie and Ronda Moran all of Mexia, Andy and Susan Moran of Austin; five brothers, Alton, Ronnie, and Marvin, all of Mexia, James Moran of Jacksonville Gary Moran of Kerrville, Texas; two sisters, Joyce Redd of Arkansas and Jean Edwards of Virginia; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moran was a beloved father and husband and will be missed by his wife and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
