Services for Colbert Abel “Chief” Miller, 59, Broken Arrow, were Monday, December 24th at First Indian Baptist Mission Church, Tulsa, the Rev. Tom Anderson conducting rites.

Burial was at Miller-Wilson Family Cemetery, Caney.

Mr. Miller died December 9, 1990 at a Tulsa hospital. He was born January 31, 1931, in Caney, to Sherman Thomas and Eliza Wilson Miller. Grandparents were Chickasaws Colbert and Suckey Orphan Miller and Choctaws, Abel and Mary Wilson. In 1955, he moved to California from Caney and in 1979 he moved to Broken Arrow.

He was employed by Mayflower Moving Co. and was a verteran of the U.S/ Army and a member of First Indian Mission Church. Survivors include four daughters, Pat Going, Ada, Pam Battiest, Broken Bow, Terri Zilliox, White River, Arizona and Tamara Miller, Wright City; one son, Richard Miller, Tulsa; is mother Eliza W. Miller, Broken Arrow; two brothers, Nathaniel “Dean” Miller, Henderson,, Nevada and Gherman “Bo” Miller, Jr. Broken Arrow; four sisters, Rhoda Anderson, Browning, Montana, Mary “Chol” Miller, Broken Arrow, Imogene “Muttsy” Swimmer, Catoosa and Linda Addis, Costa Mesa, California; and ten grandchildren.
